Everlasting - Fight or I claim in three days

Black stallion galloped into these seemingly abandoned lands. He smelled horses amongst the grass, but there was no proof that any actually roamed these parts. He thundered around the land, checking behind every tree and around every water hole. Yes, he wanted to become king of these parts. He wanted power over the lands, the only power he wished to control. His own powers must never be known. Only to him. Perhaps if he never used them, they would vanish. Of course that was impossible. One could never throw away what they truely were. He was a thoroughbred with odd coloring. White mane, white tail, white hooves, and white...eyes?
There was his weakness besides the fact that he did not wish to use his powers. Jared never did seem to acknowledge his blindness, but it was still there, handicapping him. He was never able to sense anything coming from the air such as a tree branch but he was able to know everything else. Everything that touches the ground creates vibrations sent out from where they fall. Like sonar, Jared picks up these vibrations with his rock hard hooves. He is able to know exactly where every single object or being stands and what they are doing. His sense of smell lets him know the color and gender of a horse. He is able to distinguish the difference between dark bay and black. Many a horse never believe in a different scent between colors, but it is there. It never really matters to a blind horse any way. He judges on personality.
There is no personality in this land. He didn't feel the beating of any other horse's heart. All he feels is large trees several feet thick. What were they? Redwood? Giant oak? Yet another thing he doesn't know.
