The stallion went slowly down the steep path that was the only way on or out of his valley without having to walk a long way around. He snorted as some stones went rolling down as he loosened the damp earth and rock. He kept going however as he wanted to get down to the bottom where he knew it was safer and where he would be able to rest his leg again for it was aching even more now than it had earlier. When he did reach the bottom he kept walking so that he was underneath some trees before he finally stopped, his harks were turned towards the path so that he might know when the mare was coming down it. He didn’t know whether she had followed him or whether she had gone off on her own and at that moment he didn’t really care either way. He could just go and get her again later if she had run off.

She had followed, pausing at the top of the path to perk her auds and glance around checking for any danger. No men, wolves or other horses. Good. She slowly stepped down the path, only a few small pebbles straying down ahead of her and making a slight clattering noise. Other wise she made not a sound until she reached the bottom, half reared starting her dancing once more in the snow, before heading towards him. She was covered in snow now, and had anyone been watching they would have thought the stag had given up on his chase for the fire fae and gone seeking this fae of purest white instead, she barely noticed the snow on her coat, to happy to be dancing in the land of white beauty. The large stallion knew that his land held even more beauty than the ice block on which the mares had to wait for someone to come and get them but he could not see it and so did not care much about it. He heard the sound of the mare coming down the path but he did not react other than snorting and turning his head as if to look her way though it was only so that he might listen to her movements better. He turned around after a few moments and waited to see if she was to come nearer to him or whether she was to stay where she was. He knew that his friend was not here and it was a good thing for he had no wish to be in his company now for he would merely be told that he should not have run so fast and so far just to follow the mare and that it was a silly thing for him to do to save her from the men.

The fae tossed her dial, and reared sending the snow toppling from her form, and a ripple of muscles down her coat. She was dancing like she had when he'd first approached her, and yet now, there was a stillness, a happiness about her in all her dark and fiery beauty. Her orbs scanned the terra as she landed and she danced closer to the stag.

The stallion decided to take the risk of having her describe the landscape around them to him, he would not let her guess or know of his blindness however. ”Tell me what you see, wench.” His words were clear and cold as it cut through the air but there was no harshness about his request as he stood patiently and waited for her to describe it so that he might have an idea of what it looked like. This might be the only way that he would know this even if she guessed, and even if she did he could always just convince her that he wasn’t. Just like he had done to so many before her.

She looked around. Beauty... all these tall cliffs make me feel so safe and calm, then the river moves so fast. She paused. Everythings decorated in this swift frozen snow, and when we walk it bellows up around us like clouds... She spoke a bit longer, speaking of the land in her calm soft voice, watching it all as she spoke, warm and fair she felt so safe near him. Her ebon tassles were blown back as she finished speaking and seemed to foget she'd been answering a question at all, more like she was writeing a book. She blinked and took it all in with ebony fire orbs.

He listened to her describe the land that they stood on and an image began to form in his mind for he could somewhat imagine it all even though he had never seen anything like it. He snorted and moved forwards, he stood somewhat deep in the snow and it had cooled his aching leg so that it was no longer hurting. He touched her nape with his maw and whispered, ”Now describe yourself.” He was unsure how he would explain the reason for why he wanted her to do this but he had to know. His mind was clear as he waited for her to speak, he would think of something to say later but hopefully she would not ask any questions.

She didn't question it, and she spoke once more. I am a fae of fire, and even in that the ice does not melt around me. Mixed of shades of brown and black, constructed within an arabian form... She spoke a little longer, describeing herself lightly to the stag, whom she found so strange yet so comforting within this world of iced beauty. She didn't question him, and likely wouldn't, although her mind was going at top speed, asking herself why he wanted it all described... wa he bored? Or playing some sort of game? Or could he possibly be... blind? No. She pushed the thought from her mind, he was too sur eof himself to be blind she was sure of it. She finished her words quietly and waited for him to speak once more.

He listened carefully before running his maw down her nape and then lifting it away. She hadn’t questioned him, which was good. ”Fire and ice seem two completely different things though in many ways they are alike.” He no longer spoke as quietly as before, there was no more need for that. His words were truthful as he spoke for though they seemed to be complete opposites they were alike in many ways. They could both be harsh yet comforting and gentle for could a flame not kill just like ice and cold could and could a small flame not comfort one by making it warmer just like gentle snow could make things seem peaceful? He wondered whether this made sense to her but it didn’t really matter to him for it made perfect sense to him. He was a stallion of ice and snow and she was a maiden of fire yet it seemed that they matched each other and was alike in many ways.

Surprise took over her as she felt his words in her mind, they made sense to her, more so than anything else she had heard in a long time. She smiled, white ivorys outlined against her darker pelt, ebony banners swept aside as she glanced about trying to tear her thoughts from him. So... She spoke in her oddly exotic tones. Are we the only two here or are there others who call this place of beauty home? She questioned, ebony fire orbs dancing over the ice and landscape, hocks beginning to dance beneath her.

”There’s one other that calls this place home though I do not know where he is. He is a good example of the things that humans do to a horse for he is a gelding.” His words were completely emotionless as he spoke, no coldness or harshness was in his words. He said nothing more than that and he hoped that he would not have to explain what a gelding was and if he did he would leave the ‘honour’ of explaining to his dear old friend.

She nodded, she knew what a gelding was, she had been a captive horse at one time too, and largely enough, had escaped before any real damage was done. She had suspected that there would be at least a few other horses, after all it would not be a herd without them, and she didn't mind so much. If she found the gelding to be a nuisence however, she would simply ignore him as she had this stag at first. She had no problem with that, none at all, and she had even grown accustom to being adressed as wench, it didn't matter anymore.

The stallion was somewhat pleased that she had said nothing about him calling her a wench this time, it seemed that she had finally learnt that it was just another word and that it meant nothing at all. He put his maw on her nape again and left it there as he sighed. It seemed better to be with someone than to be alone and in a way she reminded him so much of the mare that he had once loved so much, maybe this mare would take her place after all.

The fae felt his maw and sighed, resting a single hind hock of the earth and staying beside him as though he was all the warmth she'd gather in this valley. And yet that was not such a bad thing. Her hooves were frosted with ice, laced with foft frost and it made her feel slightly special to be able to call this place of icy illusions home. She stoosed her tassles and looked about once more, feeling comfortable and safe right where she was.

Vtis’ breathing was calm as he just stood there but he wasn’t asleep. His harks turned from one way to the other and his eyes were shut, not that it would make a difference if they were open. He had stopped holding his injured leg above the ground and he was putting weight on it now, even though there was still a dull pain in it it didn’t bother him as much anymore. All of his muscles were completely relaxed as he just stood there, he knew that nothing could bother them. He moved his maw slightly on her nape but then held it still again.

Sweet breath fell from her maw as her orbs slowly closed, she was relaxed with his maw on her, as though nothing could touch her and never would. She sighed, no where near sleeping, just relaxing letting the snow encircle her pillars as she stood there. She'd forgotten all about the man chase, the ice and Arctic Peaks, it was beginning to feel like she'd been there all along.

The stallion suddenly opened his eyes, a clear sign that he had heard something. He dismissed it though and sighed, trying to ignore it but he couldn’t. Something was definitely there even though it wasn’t close yet. He couldn’t scent it, only hear it. Up onto the cliffs, not yet in his valley but coming closer. Had the men followed their trails or was it just a herd of deer or something passing over to go to some new grazing spot. He didn’t know, whatever it was wasn’t close enough for him to tell yet.

She lifted her maw, auds perked, orbs wide listening. Fiery bod stood stark still as if waiting. She couldn't hear it as clearly as he could, so she had more reason to concentrate. She listened a shiver running down her spine, ebony fire orbs looking over the land waiting.

ooc: what should it be?
The stallion kept listening, his harks perked up to catch the sounds more clearly but it was still not clear what it was. His muscles started tensing slightly as he removed his maw from her nape to hold his head high. He wasn’t concentrating but merely waiting for that was the easier thing to do and the only thing too. He could soon know what the sound was.

Re: I'm not sure... maybe another horse? Maybe I should make another mare or something lol
The fae blinked, not speaking for fear of breaking her concentration, flicking her ebony banner only slightly, orbs fixed on the high walls. Metallic bay coat rippling with muscles as she waited.
