A femme, sweet featured and ebony eyed, stepped forth toward the frozen terra, heart burning with an inner flame, black banners swept aside to reveal stalking beauty which flowed across her easily.
Each footstep flawless, pelt rippling with a collection of muscles, ivory's bared in a sassy smile. And around her, melded with her, was a darkness, almost as if she was shrouded in flames. From a distance it would appear that the fae was indeed on fire, but up close, if you managed to get close without being burned, she was only a fiery beauty, dancing through invisible flames.

Bad Influence
You will do things you won't normally do... The stag’s harks turned to take in the sound of movement upon the snow covered ground. Who had come to a place such as this, frozen and icy? He snorted and a cloud of mist appeared in front of him only to disappear again. Muscles tensed as the scent of a wench reached him. His coat was short and he himself was fit. It was not cold where he lived so he had no need for a long coat. Skin was tightly drawn over powerful muscles that could be seen everywhere. Scars line his large bodice from battles long forgotten, whether they had been won or lost. He half reared, letting his front daggers hit the earth hard before he set out at a gallop that covered the ground quickly for his strides were rather large with him being no less than 19.2 hands high. He snorted and arched his neck powerfully, his head held proudly. His muscles were tense but not too much, this was what he was usually like when he had some business to attend too. Today was a good day for him, he was not quite his usual uncaring self but that wouldn’t have been such a good thing for the wench that he was heading to see. As he neared her he slowed first to a canter and then to a trot. He lowered his head slowly as if in greeting before brining it up again and coming to an almost sliding stop a few feet in front of her. The sounds, which came from where she was in front of him, told him that she was moving and not standing still. He would have frowned was he one to do such things but he wasn’t and so just stood there as if watching her when indeed he could see nothing of what she was doing. His keen hearing allowed him to follow her easily with his black eyes, indeed no one would think that he was blind. He snorted to get her attention and to get her to stop moving for she was starting to rather confuse him. He didn’t quite know how to follow the sounds so that he might know what she was doing, she was moving far too much and he had been half drowsing just before. His mind needed some time to wake up properly before he would be able to do these things. ”My greetings, wench.” His voice was rather rough and rude as he spoke in cold tones to the mare. No time had he for such things even though he never had anything to do. He wondered whether she might turn out to be much like his previous love had been, so full of fiery spirit. She had matched him so perfectly yet they had always been quarrelling and fighting each other to see who would win. What fun they had had. He waited for a response from the mare before him, visions of his past passing through his mind. His harks stayed directed towards the wench as he half turned his attention to the things in his mind. They could not really be called images for they were more memories of sounds and of touches that he had shared with the mare that he had fallen in love with. Yes, it was possible. He had fallen in love before and it might happen again, he accepted that without question but he did not think that it might happen again easily for he had met his true love and he had caused her death. It filled him with pain to remember what had happened that day, the day of her death. He wondered whether it was her that haunted him so, her voice that resounded in his mind and told him to do things and not to do others. Her shadows that always lurked behind him, following him wherever he went, watching his every movement as if judging him by what he said and did as well as thought. He shook his head, making his long mane fly wildly from side to side before falling back onto his neck when he stopped and held his magnificent head still again so that he might hear what the mare had to say. His muscles were still tense though they had tensed more as the memories had come back to him and the thoughts of the possibility that she might be haunting him. He didn’t care for if she did haunt him then it meant that she was still there with him. And nothing can stop it from Happening.

Sweet fae, born and bred of fire, chose to ignore the stag who so rudely approached her. She didn't even turn her flawless dial to see him, dark orbs stayed focused on the land, her movements making a show of muscles ripple under her dark flesh as she continued to dance and weave about.
Auds perked forward, supriseingly intense as though she feared nothing, no one, and that would not change. She whickered into the cold terra, mist forming about her maw as she did so, a collection of warm breath meeting icy air, and the mist was the proof of how warm blooded this fae was. Fiery, intense, quick witted and ever so smart.
She continued to dance, flawlessly, her strides taking her further from the stags reach, her ebon orbs half closed as she pretended he wasn't even there. And in her mind he wasn't there...
She had loved one stag and one stag only, a friesian, who battled and won her as a youth. He had loved and protected her from other stags seeking to claim, and then, he'd died, as fiercly and horribly as he had killed her previous owner... And now, she was alone. A fiery fae in a cold world, born and bred of flames and darkness, not one to be triffled with, not one to be won as easily as the speach of [iWench. No, it would be harder than that to claim this fae, and it was obvious. ((Sorry, not much muse today. Blah.))

The fact that the mare did not respond to him did not bother the stallion for he had no real intention of speaking with her for a long while. He could always find a weak little mare to push around, that itself was always a fun activity that could fill up his time. He snorted but it had not been meant to capture the mare’s attention for he did not need to. He could still follow her movements by listening even though his gaze was not directed her way. This was not because he could not see but because some other sound that was unheard to her and anything else in this world came to him with such fierceness that it would have made him tremble if he had been capable of doing such a weak thing. The scream that was in his mind came from the one that he had once loved, it was a scream of fury. Did she think that this poor wench could ever take her place beside him to rule his kingdom alongside him? This new wench’s power could never compare to that fiery nature of the mare that he had loved. It had been a strange thing and even stranger still when they had realised that they liked competing with each other a lot more than just to agree with each other.

The fae continued to dance, and on the verge of a slight cliff she tiptoed, orbs stareing down into the icy mists of the small ridge, tassles blowing back as she skittled down the side to reach the bottom, her mind on her former lover. He was no spirit, no longer there to haunt her dreams or speak with her, but everynow and then she would feel his anger or frustraition at something she did, and now was one of those times. Anger flooded around her, and she flicked her auds about trying to respond in same. What? You think I'll run off with a stag who adresses me as wench? Never. She thought, ivorys bared slightly against the harsh cold swarming over her fiery bodice. She kept moving as though nothing had happened, fiery movements like her soul, but her insides were ice cold.

The sounds of the mare had gone, she was no longer there. He snorted and brought his concentration back to reality, he heard where she was now. She had gone down the side of the cliff, such a foolish thing to do. He knew of many dangers that lurked at the bottom of that cliff and he knew of how easily the only path that led up and down it could freeze up and one would be trapped down there. The screaming had stopped and an almost worried silence had settled in his mind. Yes, the mare that he had loved had had a soft spot for those trapped and in danger that they did now know of. He almost smiled at the thought of her heartbeat changing quickly when something happened to him, when he got injured in battle or when he got injured saving her from a ravenous pack of wolves that served a dark stallion. The same dark stallion that had led him to cause his love’s death. He snorted to clear his mind of such thoughts as he moved closer to the edge of the cliff so that he might hear better the sounds that came from below and so that he might know what the mare was up to. He tested his footing each time before stepping down so that he would not fall off the side of the cliff but he did it with such practised ease that only came with years of doing it and with such swiftness that no one would ever realise that he was doing it, it looked as if he was merely walking towards an edge that he could ‘see’.

The fae knew how dangerous these places could be, but she was strong willed and determained to make it to the other side. She could easily outrun any stag who approached, and wild creatures seeking blood? Well, she was a fairly competant fighter. She lowered her dial to the earth, taking a deep breath to see if she could smell any foes. Slightly, the scent of wolves, not many, and it was distant as if they'd passed by this place long ago.
She was in no danger, or so she thought.
Auds perked about as she lifted her dial, ebon orbs filled with sweet fire, and she suddenly realised her mistake. She was in a pen, cliff walls on either side, icy paths leading to an ultimate drop if she tried to move up them. Damn. She thought, bracing herself against the icy wind. But no amount of ice or wind would put out her flame.

Shit. The stallion had suspected something like this, the way the voice and the screaming in his mind had quietened into a worried silence. Every muscle in his body tensed as the smell of humans filled his nostrils. He wanted to run, he knew he had to but he suddenly realised that the mare reminded him of his love, that was why he had not left her yet and that was why the voice in his mind had screamed in fury. He moved to find the path that led down into the valley, it had started to ice over as a icy breeze cut through the air and he slid half the way, he tested each foothold well before stepping down, even though it still seemed as if he was merely walking and sliding confidently down a steep slope path. He screamed his fury towards the humans, he knew of the things that they could do to a horse. He had been told these things by one that had had experience with living with them. He was not really fighting to free the mare but fighting more to ruin the plans of the humans that had come to no doubt capture a wild horse to take them and to try to break their spirit. As he slid the last part of the path and reached the bottom he stopped with a rear. His wild mane was taken by the breeze and blew around wildly like a flag atop a flagpole, as he stood poised perfectly and without moving. His eyes and his facades showed nothing but pure fury as he came back down to earth with a loud crash that made a crack run up the ice that had formed on the path behind him. He waited to see where they would come out before he would break their fences, he had done it before. They were not strong enough to stand against his strength and weight.

Wild orbed and fiery the fae stood frozen, one hock raised delicatly off the earth, head held high with unmistakable pride, and banners swept violently by the wind. She barely noticed the stag as she gazed around, the whites of her ebon orbs showing, nostrils flared as she snorted in a fiery fit, auds flicking about to the odd yet completley unforgettable smell of men. Never again would she find herself correled, cornered like a lost orphan foal, never. She suddenly moved, like a flash of fire shooting across the land to the cliff side,a nd she leapt, hooves slideing beneath her hocks, as she reached the top, ice filled ridge sending her toppling back down to land on her side. Without a second breath she was up, wild as ever, standing like a wild fae who wanted nothing more than to outrun the dogs who had them trapped. Her attempt at freedom forgotten, as blood trickled down her side, and she screamed out in rage.

The stallion’s keen hearing picked up a unmistakable sound, the soft trickle of blood. He remembered how he had felt the blood all over his love as he had gone to her after her death, not with guilt and not with sadness but with no emotion at all. The blood had covered almost every part of her except for her face. This made him pause and his legs trembled slightly at the though. Fury flowed right through his entire being, not aimed at the men now but at he himself and the dreaded mare that was doing this to him. Even though she was dead she influenced him now more than ever. His voice was rude and harsh as he spoke loudly, almost yelling at the mare. ”Fuckin’ wench. Do you really think that such foolish actions will work.” He knew now what she was trying to do, she had tried to jump out of the little valley. It was a foolish thing to do, one of the most foolish for even the best of jumpers would not make it and she was no exception no matter how special she thought herself to be. He snorted in disgust at her actions. He was basically staring right at her now, the sound of blood thudding loudly in his ears, angering him even more than he had thought anything ever could. He reared and screamed again before setting out towards the dogs. In passing them he struck out a hard blow and hit one square on the head, killing it instantly. He cantered and then slowed to a trot as he went towards the mare. ”That’s how you fuckin’ deal with the little shits.” He said with harsh accusation in every part of his words. He stayed almost near her, his harks turned towards the dogs. He knew that they were eager to try and avenge their comrade and friend but they waited willingly for the command of their owners. ”Pathetic little creatures.” He half muttered as he waited for them to come closer.

She snorted, she knew how to deal with them, but she tried to avoid bloodshed and battle, she dispised it and anyone weak enough to resort to it. She did not believe she was special, no way, but she had been foolish enough and scared enough to attempt to jump. Prancing on the spot, tossing her dial, the sound of the stags words ringing in her auds as she noticed it. A fence. A fence the humans had placed there in an attempt to keep there treasured horses in. Nope. Bad idea. She snorted at the stag, auds flicking to the fence, she had no idea he was blind, no sense of it even. Maybe, once this was all over and she was paying attention, maybe then she would realise. Not likely however. The fence! She spoke, an odd, hyptmotiseing voice like the soft crackle of fire on a cold night rung forth. She could easily jump the fence, easily gallop down the ridge and find a safer place to jump, but the ringing stallions cry in her head told her what she feared. She wouldn't leave this stag alone to deal with these men. No. It was her fight too. In a fit of anger she flattened her auds to her skull, ivorys bared, as she rounded on the men, eager to break there wills and set herself free. She reared up at them, sleek bodice seeming, somehow, more powerful and less delicate. Muscles cascadeing down her bodice, banners flying wildly about her chisled dial and rump as she struck out with a powerful fore dagger. A man fell backwards, a slight gash in his arm, no one would be foolish enough to try and fight an enraged wild horse. The proof of there folly was the dead man, blood stained and dead on the earth. The fae screamed and attemtped to leap past them to the fence.
She didn't even notice the rope come flying towards her...

The sound of the rope filled his harks. He had been following every move that the mare had made, waiting to see whether she was really foolish enough to go for the fence. Yeah sure you could jump it, almost any horse could, but what lay beyond the fence? Why, nothing more than a big surprise, like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. He almost chuckled at his own musings in his mind, he knew what lay at the other side of the fence, he had been there but the ‘small’ surprise had not been enough to stop him. They had not quite though about what they might do if they happened to catch a big horse like himself. He snorted as he heard the rope fall around the mare’s nape, he knew she had been caught or the rope had not made a sound of retreating but more the sound of holding. He struck out at the earth with both his front daggers before jumping straight into a gallop and heading back towards the dogs. As he drew near they scattered despite themselves with their tails between their legs. He knew how to deal with them and he knew how to deal with ropes too. ”You stupid wench, could you not fuckin’ see that coming.” It was not really a question but another accusation. He knew that her hearing would not be as keen as his was, she would not have been able to hear the sound of the rope flying towards her with the barking of the dogs. He could, he could hear all the sounds around him together and still hear them as if they were the only sounds he could hear. He had also learnt the art of knowing which sounds meant what and whether they held any danger or not. This mare was just making matters worse. He knew that she had been heading for the fence now. He trotted smartly towards her and the rope that held her where she was, if she moved then more would accompany that one to hold her still. A rope was sent his way but sound soon told him where it was and how fast it was coming and he ducked his proudly held head a mere moment before it would have been too late. He seemed to have a smug expression as he lashed out at the rope with his teeth and soon broke it. ”Go jump that fence now, wench.” His voice held sarcasm with it’s icy accusation and a smirk appeared on his facades as his blind gaze was turned her way just as his harks were so that he might hear the sounds of her reaction to his tone and his words. ”See what surprises lay at the other end.” His words held challenge but would she accept, if she was foolish then she would for she was not a very large mare and the power of the surprise that lay at the other side of the fence might just kill her. If she could make it that far in the first place. He had scented cold metal and he knew what this smell meant too for this had come with the men the other time that they had tried to capture him. And with it came the pang of death. He waited his harks now turned to catch the sounds of the men and their dogs, they were getting more ropes ready to catch the two horses.

Stop calling me wench! She squeeled in her fiery voice, auds flattened to her skull, accusing eyes directed at the stallion as though it was his fault she'd been stuck. She dodged a man, sending her back hocks cascadeing towards him as she thought over the stags words. Damn it Desire, he knows something you don't know... She tossed her maw as the man went scittering away like a jitterbug from her flying hocks. Finally her orbs set on the stags. Got another plan, colt? How she loved that word. So simple, so plain, and yet stallions became viscious when adressed as it. Black ebons flew about her head as she threw her maw to the earth just barely missing a rope that had come flying towards her. She was now cut off from the stag, the men had laid claim to the space between the two horses, and she eyed the fence wearily. Gods, looks like its now or never. Did she run? Did she jump? Or did she listen to that hint of sarcasm that had annoyed her so badly. A little voice inside nagged her to listen to the stag, to charge down the men and follow his lead like a pathetic lap dog, but another voice, a stronger voice ringing in her tainted auds told her to trust her motives and outrun both foes at once. The only problem was decideing who was the bigger foe. The mass muscled stag on one side, or the fence, so hauntingly close. In an instint she had decided and lunged for the men, as they ducked she sailed over there heads and landed beside the stag, her auds pricked towards him, waiting for him to tell her what to do. She might just listen this time.

Her request that came to him as a desperate squeal of annoyance only made him smirk, he would not listen to her, she should at least be smart enough to know that. It was strange that he should be so calm in the midst of men when it was such a clear thing that all horses became full of fear at the mere thought of them. Was it his experience in dealing with them that let him be in their presence without an inkling of fear? Or was it just his fury at what they had done that blocked out the fear? Maybe it was both those things, who knew. She asked him what to do, and addressed him as colt. His smirk did not disappear as he followed her movements while standing completely still even though some men were drawing nearer to him with every passing moment. He could sense the indecision and he knew that she was trying to figure out what she should do. When he sensed her to be closer to him he knew that she had decided to listen to his words. It made his smug expression from earlier return. ”Well now, wench. Seems you have learnt something after all. Didn’t think that was possible but who knows in a world such as this.” His harks were moving from side to side to catch all sounds even though his head had dropped as if he had given up, no one would know the difference for his eyes hid all that he felt without even being shut. His face held no expression anymore as he aimlessly sniffed at the ground. He could hear the wind come down the same path that they had, it was right in front of them and surely frozen over. That was not such a bad thing for him as he knew how to walk on frozen ground and he could because his weight usually cracked the ice and made hoofprints for him to stand in without sliding. He knew that she was facing the same way as him and he knew that she would not be able to run up a steep path that was covered in ice but he always had the option of pushing her. ”Why not grab a bite to eat, wench.” There was no emotion in his icy remark as his harks flattened only slightly against his skull as he could make out the sound of a rope being readied. The mare would have to lower her head or she would be caught again and he would not free her for she could do it herself. He had troubled himself long enough with her and she was putting him in danger. And all for what? A sharp pain shot through his mind and told him that the spirit that lived there had taken offence to what he was thinking, was he doing this for her?

Oh, yeah. And maybe I'll settle down with a mate and have a few kids while I'm at it. The sarcasm was thick in her voice as she rolled her orbs, just managing to dance away from the rope that cut through the air. It stung as it hit her blood stained side and she whickered low, a sign she just wanted to get out of there, and as fast as she could. Ebon banners floated through the air, sleek crescent body like a flame traveling across the land, burning all in it's path. She danced away from the stag and the men, if all he was going to do was offer dumb comments she didn't need him. She observed the cliffs as she danced flawlessly, tassel's dancing about, there, not far off was a small cliff side, hardly any ice. She was sure she could make the jump. She neighed and froze in a poise like a half rear, muscles rippling beneath her hide as she looked back at the men and the stag. An angry stallions call echoed in her mind. Stop it! She told herself. He's not doing it for you!... The voice paused. I think. Shaking her maw she stayed where she was, landing easily on the earth, mind embezzled with thoughts. Finally, she galloped back to the stags side, sending men scattering about as she reared. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get out of here. So if your through acting all high and mighty, let's go! She couldn't believe she was talking to this stag like an old friend, when truly he was just a stag foolish enough to get mixed in her problems. She couldn't leave him there alone though, no. He had helped her, whether willingly or for his own purposes she didn't know, but truly, did it matter?

Her words went unheard as the pain in his mind got worse. He shook his head violently and snorted before the pain finally started to go away. He moved backwards so that the mare was in front of him before he started pushing her. The sound of metal hitting other metal had come to him clearly through the pain and he knew what would happen if they didn’t get out of there fast enough. He walked forward, pushing the mare before her, giving her a warning snort that if she even tried to get away from his pushing he would leave her there to die. He didn’t need to push hard to get her to move, she wasn’t that heavy and it didn’t surprise him. He kept walking towards the path, knowing where it was without even really having to think about it.

The fae threw her head high, an obvious expression of What the hell?! on her facade, but she didn't even try to get away. Compared to the stag she was nothing, she was too light weighted to fight him off, and her arabian form seemed delicate compared to his well muscled stance. So she went, letting him push her, the angry stallion cry in her mind got angrier still, as if saying Get away from him while you can! Though she ignored it for the most part. The crack of whips sent shivers through her body, and she leapt ahead of the stag unintentionally, pauseing glancing around before walking forward again.

When the mare leapt forward he didn’t even falter, he hadn’t been pushing hard enough to fall forwards if the weight was taken away too suddenly. He snorted and went a bit faster, the whip had come close to his haunches and he didn’t like it. They should be on the path now and it should be even easier and faster to push the mare’s small weight. He wondered whether she had realised yet what he was doing. He was at a fast walk now but as soon as they were on the icy path he would be able to go into a canter.

She hadn't realised, she was too preoccupied trying to flee from the whips. She leapt onto the path, her hooves slideing as she fell back into him. With his weight behind her she jumped the last few paces, her hooves finding firm footing beneath her hocks. She cursed under her breath, the men seemed impressed and had stopped flailing there whips at them, well, at her anyway. She snorted, icy mist forming around her maw.

The men had a longer whip out now and the stallion’s harks picked up the sound of it flying through the air. A sharp pain shot through him as it connected with his haunches, hard and sharp. He could feel blood start to seep slowly out of the wound that the ship had left, it would be a deep cut. He could hear the men withdrawing the whip and readying it to lash it out at him again. He snorted and took off at a faster canter. Getting away from the edge of the cliff fast, before the whip hit him again. He snorted at the mare as he came to a sliding stop and spun around to see where she had got to. He had pushed her hard before he had taken off and he wondered if she had fallen or something. But he would no longer help her, she had done enough to cause trouble. He started trotting away from the place where the path was, knowing that the humans might try to come after them.
