Gleaming chestnut hide could be seen moving through the trees of the large forest. A strange stillness seemed to follow her passing as all creatures silenced themselves to stare at her beautiful form. She was only walking but her movements held such a graceful strength that it was quite captivating to what her. No sound came from her, not even the crack of a twig. There was no snow on the ground even though it was winter and the sun’s gentle rays of sunlight could be seen breaking through the canopy of leaves to show the moist dirt floor of the forest. Vixen had no reason for being where she was yet she was certain that she would find a reason soon enough, time always gave her something to strive for, something to aim at getting. Smirk was placed upon her beautiful facades as she kept moving at her flawless pace, each movement following the next with such ease that it almost seemed as if she was walking on air. Her neck was arched as her head was held proudly, a clear sign that she was not weak.

Stradaverious stood in the shadows unseen, unmoving. Watching the fae as she wandered effortlessly through the woods. She was beautiful, and more importantly strong.

He had come across many weak, pathetic souls he had wasted time trying to save them. But her, she seemed strong, powerful, and beautiful at the same time. He watched her for a little while before speaking. "Vixen." He said it calmly and smoothly from the shadows. His booming voice did not give away his position instead it surrounded the mare as she walked. Her reaction would be interesting.

Faint smile played at the vixen’s maw, she had suspected that there was someone else here in this place of eerie stillness. She stopped, her head staying at the same proud position that kept her neck beautifully and gracefully arched. ”Well, ‘tis a shame that you should be so fearful as to hide in the shadows stag. I am harmless really, you needn’t fear me.” Her words were sweet, almost coaxing as she spoke. No trace of sarcasm or mockery was in them though her choice of words did suggest that she was mocking him. She waited too see whether he would come out of hiding and face her, she liked to see those that she was dealing with. It made it all the more interesting.

He chuckled as he stepped out of the shadows. Standing right in front of her. She held her beautiful stance and he held and proud one. He looked at her as she would do to him.

"Choice words for a mare that hides in a forest." He threw the words back at her. Though they hold no insult, mockery, or sarcasm. just flat, calm, cool words that matched the area around them.

Faint smile still played on her maw as she watched him step out of the shadows before her. ”And why can a vixen like me not hide when it seems all stags are after me.” Her words had a double meaning but yet he would only get the one, and the one that she wanted him to get instead of the real reason why. ”It seems though, that you do not have a reason like I myself have as to why you should be hiding in this forest.” She hadn’t taken any offence from his words as he had said that she was hiding even though it was not true, she wasn’t hiding but merely searching. She waited for a reply from the stallion, watching him with her dark brown orbs.

It did not seem to him that he would be in need of claiming this mare so passing sarcastic puns and insults would be fun. If needed he would just change tactics, easily done.

He looked over her but in the dark of the forest with only a few rays of light, one of which he stood in, he could only see her dark brown eyes. However she could see him very well. His maw running black with only the white snip as contrast before the black faded to a dark bay, that ran down his neck and barrel. It was a rich brown, when he was wet he looked jet black. his legs were all black running up to his hocks in the back and all the way up to his shoulder in the front.

His mind was filled with wisdom though he needn't bring it out all the time sometimes, times like this, he didn't need to discuss philosophy. Though he shot one back at the mare that stood before him. "With words like that mare I can assure you that not all brutes are out to get you." he had a little bit of a chuckle in his voice though it still sounded booming and dark.

he spoke again this time his voice was calm and relaxed. "I do not hide in the forest m'dame i simply search for other equines such as your self that wander through here, in hopes that I might be able to chat as we are now."

Indeed not all of that was true he thought. he looked through this forest not to seek mares but to seek blood, the blood of the weaker so that they could not get in the way. But she didn't need to know that did she? For now he just waited for her to respond, this little verbal match was quite fun a little light in his dark days.

Some small creatures had started to let curiosity make them come out of hiding. A small black bird sat up in one of the trees above the two horses and watched them through interested black eyes. Fore dagger was lifted slightly before the vixen put it back on the ground softly, as if it had all been in thought and nothing more. The little bird still flew away though, screaming as if to warn to others not to go near. The mare’s slender and graceful legs were placed lightly upon the earth, she never had much weight on her. She was as muscled as an elegant mare should ever be but it was all because of her many travels. Her dainty dial was slightly cocked to one side, as if she was studying the stallion but she never gave much thought to that. Even though it was already midday there was not much light in this forest and it pleased her somewhat that she would not have to be out where the sun was. After the stag had uttered his last word she only took a moment to reply in her own captivating tone, ”Well then my dear stag, may I suggest a topic of conversation so that we may converse some?” If he wanted to chat, then that was fine with her. She had a topic for them to chat about too if he didn’t mind. ”Unless you already have one in mind.” She added after a moment, maybe he should lead the conversation. That would be rather interesting as he didn’t quite look the type to have the ability to keep a conversation going when it started to die. Her dial was still slightly cocked but she straightened it now as she lowered her head to sniff at the leaves and scratch her fore dagger before bringing it up to where it had been at its proud hight at the end of an elegantly arched neck.

He looked around at the animals that had come out to look at them though none appeared now. The little mocking bird had warned them that he was there. He ignored them though looking at the mares as she spoke and moved. He didn't really know what to talk about. He would talk till the dinosaurs came back if the topic was interesting enough.

He thought about what to say, trying to sum it all up in one phrase so that he would not have to speak more than once. Finally he cam up with it and spoke. "Indeed we shall, but what about." his voice rose at the end of his words. He was just standing there thinking about the shadows. The sun was making him very hot now since it was midday but in a moment he would be able to move back into the shadows without making it seem like he was retreating.

She watched him as she listened to her words and a strange smile appeared on her facades as the question came of what topic. She loved to make things uncomfortable for other yet be as comfortable herself as if she were all alone and not discussing anything. ”Life. We shall converse about life.” She would not ask a question, let the stag think about it for a moment, maybe he would speak first. She would wait, she was a patient horse when she wanted to be. She was still in the shadows so the sun could not reach her but she saw the sun triumphantly shining on the stag’s bay back. She had noticed that he was bay, even though she had not yet studied him, maybe she should but if she did then she would do it later, not now when they were at the point of starting a conversation. All the creatures had gone back to hiding now, not that there had been that many of them. This forest was an eerie place and the trees themselves had made many creatures leave here to go and find new homes. She had heard the fast chatter of some squirrels earlier and they had said that they could swear the trees moved at night. She herself didn’t quite believe this as they couldn’t move their roots which was sunk deep into the soft earth so that they might get water to survive. It had to be the air in the forest that made these creatures so confused, making them vulnerable to predators that couldn’t be more confused than they would be without the air. It made these small creatures easy prey for them and it made the forest a perfect place for a predator to seek a home.

He looked about the forest around him. The trees swayed in the mid day breeze. They looked to be 'moving' around him as he talked to the mare. "What about it?" he was calm and cool now, they were talking nothing more. Actually he like to talk to people about life, the living the dead other things. He often thought cowards about it. He hated cowards, they were crowding the world, wasting space, and resources. It bothered him, though it didn't show on his facade.

He suggested that, that was they would end up talking about, indeed that was one of his favorite subjects. Though he wondered what the mare thought of it. He laughed at himself in his mind. That was the point of talking to people wasn't it? To learn about them and what they thought. Now he nipped at a bird that had desided to land on his hot back. It was trouble some when they landed on him, when they landing things on him. They were apart of life though and not much could be done about them. They were hard to kill, he had tried. They could always escape into the air when he had to stay upon the ground. It kinda sucked.

Harks were almost perked up as she awaited his reply, dark brown eyes watching him. Finally the question came, always a question and never a sentence. She almost shook her head at that though, she was always at the end to answer the questions of others but that suited her just fine. ”Everything.” She said, watching him for a reaction before she continued. ”What is your thoughts on life and what it holds?” She would ask a question, she did not much like to give out her own opinions but to play with the mind of whom ever had decided to converse with her. She would learn about him but yet at the end of it he would know no more about her than he had at the start. She saw the bird perch on his back and saw his reaction but she did not care, birds never perched on her. They clearly did not see this stallion as a threat to their lives, maybe he was too weak and slow. She wouldn’t be sure. She waited now again for his reply, was he thinking about it or merely just wasting time?

He thought about her reply. He was not one to give things out with out reward, soooo if she wasn't going to give him anything he was just going to keep on with nonsense.

All though as he thought about it he liked more and more the thought of giving her a bunch of crap. It would be funny indeed.

His voice was totally serious when he spoke. "Life is wonderful, every one is happy, there is no pain, only goodness. Happy prancing ponies and little bunnies that hop around. Then there is love every where. I every one. its just wonderful." With that he waited for her reply.

Watching as the bird that had landed on him flew up into to a tree, only to be scolded by another one. He must have been new, and very foolish for few birds that resided here, or any animal for that matter went near him.

Disbelieving look appeared on the vixen’s beautiful facades as she watched the stag and listened to his foolish words. ”You should not lie to me stag, I know when another lies.” There was a slight threat in her words though it would almost not be possible for him to quite know whether it was a threat or not. ”I know that your heart and mind is filled with darkness.” Slight smirk appeared on her facades, she was somewhat showing her dark side, her true side. But it all disappeared before he would even have really noticed the change. ”Besides. I have encountered no love, no prancing ponies nor any hopping bunnies.” Still she gave him nothing of her own opinion, only stated that she had seen nothing of what he had said. She waited, he had to give her more than that or she would not be satisfied at all and only force him to say more in very subtle ways.

He laughed at her. A big laugh that echoed through out the forest in which they stood. A few nested birds took flight, every thing in this world was either strong or a coward there was no in between. That was it, you either looked at the world every morning and fought it or you stayed behind the covers shaking at mothers side. These were things he would have told the mare that stood in front of him. Had it not been for the whole match thing.

Now he figured he would just give bounce back sentence replies to her words. To him bounce back sentences were just a bunch of shit put together so that it sounded all high and mighty which was really fun in this type of situation.

"Mare the bird that sits upon the tree branch above you could tell that I was lying. You do not find those things because those things do not exsist or happen in our world. Yes our world. Your mind and heart rest in the darkness because it is the sane part of the world. All the rest of the world is just full of crap."

He loved it. His words sounded like he was giving her something but he wasn't. The best part of it was she wouldn't be able to tell. He gave her pieces of the darkness code. What every one of the shadows knew by heart. He knew this mares was a part of his world even though she didn't really show it. For now he stood there shifting his wait and moving his foot at the same so that he could move but not look like it.

No emotion was shown on her beautiful facades as she watched him, she still wasn’t quite satisfied with his words. ”What does being alive mean to you?” Question, not a response, but a question is what she will give him. She was a mare obsessed with death and those that had already experienced it yet death would not accept her into its arms even though she had tried to get herself killed so many times before. Never would it work. Quiet snort was given in disapproval of her thoughts as she kept watching the stag, waiting for his answer. If he wanted her to say anything more than just asking him questions he would have to give her more than he had. He had said something that so many would say, keeping his true opinion from her. She waited, no movement came from her at all, she might have not even been there, a figment of the stag’s imagination. Who knew whether he saw things or not. She could move swiftly and leave him feeling like he had seen a ghost yet she chose not to, she chose to stay and give this stag the opportunity to impress her and be in her company. Yet so far he did not quite deserve it.

Okay, he thought. This wasn't going to be fun if she wasn't going to give him anything or even just play along. So he would continue to give her crap. He shrugged his shoulders "I don't know, what about it"

he was thinking in his mind. Much more of this and he would just turn and leave. It wasn't worth staying around his he couldn't have fun.

She could sense the stag’s growing boredom. He had thought that she would actually tell him something. Maybe she would, just to make him talk but she wouldn’t let him know how much of it was actually really true. ”Does the feel of death intrigue you? Does the way its shadow creeps over you making you dread what comes next not make you want to experience it?” There, she had given some of what she thought of death in a question that he would have to answer. He could not leave without answering her questions. She waited again, studying him now but only slightly.

Stradaverious was really board now. Nothing was happening and the only thing he had gotten from the mare as that she wanted to die. Big deal. He wanted to leave with a bang so he lept up into the air. up and over the mare as she stood. His head brushing against the leaves. He landed about 5 feet away from the mare. His skull turned towards her butt. Then he spoke. "Death is death, not much to it." Now he turned away from the mare and walked on. She could follow but he was board of her.

She snorted at his comment but then spoke in sarcastic tones as she turned her head to look at him. ”Its really is a shame that you should be so insecure.” With that she started walking again in the direction that she had been going, ignoring him as if he hadn’t even been there in the first place.

He picked up a trot out of there. He heard her voice but ignored the words. Continuing on his way forgeting about her.
