The stallion burst over the edge of the canyon lip and down the narrow path. Stilts were a blur beneath his bodice as he hit the Wadi floor and took off once more. He had been drawn into a race with the mare and for the time he had been content with running with her, them each taking turn at being lead yet as they neared the Scorpion Wadi, Starscream made the effort to pull out infront and take the lead down the path into the canyon. The red sands flew from his flints as he raced. Bit by bit he slowed untill he reached the pool, yet instead of stopping totally he crashed through the still, cool water. Nose extended and the titan took a few grateful gulps of the cool water. Looking back, the chestnut brute searched for the mare...

The mare had slowed to let him take the lead, sensing that they were drawing near to his land. She had kept pace with him, not extending her strides too much so as to run too hard. Sweat was dripping from her coat as she went after him slower than before, following exactly where he had gone. She saw him go into the water and as he did so she started to move around him in a wide circle quietly so that he would not hear her with the sound of water in his ears. When he looked back she was already at the other side of him and she stood very closely in front of him now but he would not see her until he looked back in her direction.
”Looking for me?”
She asked almost in a whisper as she lowered her muzzle to the cool water. Drinking slowly to allow the cool water to leave a tingling trace as it slid down her throat. She was looking down at the water but she could see his reflection clearly in it and would so be able to see his face when he heard her words and the reaction that he would give. She didn’t look up as she waited.

He did not see her and optics traved the entrance path yet there was no sign. When she spoke, he swung his skull quickly around and was shocked to find himself face to face with her. Snort was released as he arched his dial back. Watching her lower her dial to drink. Smirk lifted his librums
Actually yes I was. I have found you now though
he chuckled and shook off his surprise, lowering his mug back to the cool liquid. The stallion slid his maw closer before snorting forcfully, causing the water to spray in her direction

She had seen the surprise on his face but she only smiled to herself as she listened to his words. She kept her head low as she answered. ”That’s good.” When he lowered his mug towards the water she lifted her gaze to look at his face as she took another drink. When he blew and the water came towards her she was not quick enough to withdraw her head before the water hit her and soaked her face. She was not standing in the water and she backed a small step before stepping sideways a little and jumping into the water right next to where his face was. As she landed she let her body keep falling into the water to create an even bigger splash even though the water was somewhat shallow.
She could help but laugh now, as she felt the water almost cover her. It splashed up into her face again but she didn’t care. It was already wet so why not get it wetter? That’s what she thought. She turned her head to look at the stallion’s face and see his reaction. She didn’t wait long though before she got up and started shaking herself, letting the water fly from her coat and mostly towards the stallion. She started shaking her head as she stopped shaking the rest of her. Her coat was shining as the sun shone on it and she was a clear contrast to her darker surroundings. Much like he had been before in the snow. She stepped out of the water before he would be able to splash her again and she stood there watching him. But she made sure to keep far enough away from the water to be out of his reach.

He did not expect her attack and so was unable to save himself from the soaking he recieved. Water went up his nose and it was hard to snort it out through his nares and laugh at the same time. His deep, rumbling laughter rolled forth and he gazed at her next to him. Pools narrowed to save them from the water she shook on him and he lifted a pillar to strike at the water to splash her yet she had already retreated to the waters edge and out of his reach. He took another sip of the pleasent liquid
The land is pleasent enough, yes?
he asked, watching a scorpion travel across the canyon wall. It was one of the reasons for the name of the canyon. That and the canyons curved around in a pattern that looked like the tail of a scorpion

She lifted her head a slight bit more as she studied the land, not her usual surroundings but it was good enough. ”It is pleasant enough.” Her words were again sweet and friendly as she spoke. She then looked back towards him with a smile on her face as she saw how wet she had got him. The sun had already started to dry her now clean coat and it was nice and warm on her body as she lowered her head. She was still pondering whether she should catch a nap or not, the warmth in the air suggested that she should but she was not sure that she was even tired.

Nodding with agreement, the stallion pulled himself out of the water and shook his coat lightly. The mid-day sun was warming and he could feel his coat drying quickly. The glossy red richness of it stood out even with him standing among the red stone of the canyon yet he did not stand out nearly as much as she did. It was quite a lovely effect, he mused.

She opened her eyes and turned to him with a smile as he shook himself. She knew that she would like it well enough here even if he was not her one true love. She snorted and walked a little closer to him, touching him lightly on the shoulder but not keeping her maw there.

Surprise reistered upon his features as she stepped closer and touched him. He did not return her touch but rewarded her with a pleasent smile. It was nice to have her as company here. Even if she was not a mate, she was still valuable as a member of his small herd and would make a good friend. He blew at her in a cheeky sort of way, his breath warm and scented with the smells of desert sands and crystal waters.
Well, this being your home for the time, it is all yours to roam and you are higher status then anyone who wanders through. There are coyotes and an occasional lion so watch yourself yet they know to stay away from the caves
that was all he had to tell her. His grey orbs took her in, waiting to see if she had any questions for him

She blew softly back at him in her own mysterious mischievous way and then spoke after listening to his words. ”I’m not scared.” A slight smile played on her maw as she said this and her eyes twinkled with mischief. She walked a few more steps past him and then flicked her tail at him before looking over her should almost innocently to see what he would do.

He wrinkled his nose as her fine banner hairs tickled his nares. As she looked back he reached over to grip some silken dreads between his ovories to give them a little tug
Watch where you flick that little missy
he chuckled. He had not had so much fun in a while. Grumpy stallions that had been his travelling companions didnt provide too much entertainment

She almost smiled but she stopped herself, letting herself look innocent. ”Flick what?” She asked as if she had no idea what he was talking about but the glint of mischief in her eyes said that she did. She flicked her tail again but pretended that she didn’t even notice as she kept watching the stallion innocently.

Starscream chuckled again and gave her another tug, friendly and gentle. Picking up his stilts, the titan trotted past her before lifting his own silken banner and tossing it toward the minx

tossing his cranium he continued on. A parasite bit into the flesh of his shoulder and he pressed up against the jaggered edge of a cave mouth to get rid of the itch

he was asking out of curiousity. He himself was an able fighter yet able to care for the sick and patrol boarders. He wondered what her talents were

”My talents?” She said thoughtfully as she flicked her tail absent mindedly at some flies that had settled on her haunches. ”I don’t know.” She had never really thought abut it much, she could do many things but she didn’t really classify them as talents. ”Why? What talents do you think I would have?” This would be interesting. She waited for him to answer, maybe he would have an idea of what talents she might have. She could run, she knew that much.

The question was returned to him and he was a bit taken back. His shoulders were brought up into a shrug
I asked to find out. You have the legs to be a mover I think. I think you would be one for talking to others. Making them comfortable or calm. A good negotiator

She listened to his words, nodding her agreement. His thoughts were fair enough even if it wasn't detailed but she couldn't quite expect him to know. She watched him, wondering if there was more or whether he was done but then deciding that he was done she spoke. "I can run, that's true and I can make others think what I wish them too, that too is true though the ways in which I do it is unknown and will stay that way." With the last couple of words her voice took on the hint of mystery that it sometimes did.

Pools were fixed upon her. He could beleive her words without a doubt, for her words ticked over in his brainspan for a time even after they were spoken. He nodded to her with a shadow of a smile. She looked so young to him, so vibrant and full of mischief. That suddenly brought to mind of her age. He wondered or not to ask her or not but in the end decided to

he looked deep into her orbs with his own grey windows, curiosity showing clear within them. SHe may not choose to tell him but he was just curious. It was up to her to talk to him

It was a bit of an odd question to ask but she could only guess why he asked, many had done the same thing before. She was still young, that was true but she wasn't as young as they all seemed to believe. "I have seen three long and cold winters. What about you, fiery stag?" She decided that she might as well as him as well. There was a playful smile upon her facades as she watched him and waited for an answer.

he did not quite answer straight away, just mused over hers. She had that youth to her that added to her playful and mischievious nature.
I have seen a total of twelve harsh winters
his grey pols held hers as he waited for any reaction from her

"Thats seems fair enough." she answered playfully before shoving him gently and then walking to stand a short distance away from him. "I suppose that all those harsh winters would just add to the beauty of summer."
