Twas a calm day, only a slight breeze to ripple the emerald sea of the meadow. The large boulders of the once great castle were clealry visable, littered along the ground. In the distance, a black speck appeared. It grew bigger as it got closer and formed itself into the shape of a horse. It was a horse. Running flat out across the grass. Running flat out, running very fast. Thunderous footfalls verberated from the sod as the black bullet went flying along. It was a figure made for speed, that, any one could tell. A mare of the purest and best bloodlines and made purly for the sport of kings. That is, in the human world. She had left that world to the humans and made a life in the glorious freedom that was beyong the white fence. Yet, she may have been able to turn her back on captivity yet she was unable to do so on her breeding. Fleet Goddess. Her calling and her nature. She loved to run, she was good at running and she was a sight to see when she got her speed up. The icy cold of Artic Peak held no attracktion for her and instead this land had. She never stopped to think that is could belong to someone else. All she knew is that she wanted to run.
A boulder rose up to meet her and elegantly, like no racehorse ever could, she curved around it clearing it easily and smoothly. Joy shon in her orbs and was visible from every line of her perfect body. She continued on with her run yet slowed it down just a fraction. An easy gallop was all she acomplished for now, her heart beating fiercly against her chest. Twas such a glorious land. A true holder of beauty and life. Who could blame her for wanting to come and run here?

The sound of a horse running came to him and his head shot up, he hadn’t expected anyone to come to his lands without being brought here. Some still thought that there might be humans, and it did seem that there could with the tower still standing tall and proud. He snorted and reared up, neighing a greeting, something told him that it was not a stallion here to challenge him and if it was he could still greet them. He came down to earth and bucked before taking off at a gallop to go and see who it was. The pleasure of his freedom and the pleasure of knowing that this beautiful land was his made him buck again just to express himself. He slowed to a canter as he saw the mare coming towards him. He had not seen her run for he had been on the other side of a slight hill where there were trees to give shade on the hot days. He had been grazing but all though for food was now forgotten as he came to a stop and waited for her to come closer. He was still wondering what she was doing here but he did not mind having some company for once, one grew lonely when alone too long.

Head down, nares wide, pillars stretching out and pulling back. She was basically flying yet she knew she wasnt. Fleet Goddess could come close to it though. Harks were back to save them from being battered by the wind yet she still caught the sound of the stallion. At first it did not register untill she saw him. Slowing down was not an option. She continued on, pounding the ground with her flints. The stallion became lager as she grew closer. She sailed right past him and up the small hill that had hidden them from each others view. The slight upward slope of the hill made it easier to wind down and as soon as she reached the tippy top of the slight rise she skidded to a halt, sitting on her haunches basically. Looking over her shoulder, she looked at him. Sure she was a bit of a showoff but it was in her blood. Her sleek black coat was glossy with the slight layer of sweat that had built up from her run. Pivoting around on her haunched till she faced him, the mare picked herself off and gave her mass a good shake. Proud strides took her closer to the titan and orbs took in his every detail. He was an impressive sight. Thoroughbred like herself yet taller then her 16.2hh. 'Lo lone vocal was friendly and sweet These your lands? If so I am sorry to barge in like this. They are just such beautiful lands and I dont care much for the cold she realised she was babbling. All her words were spoken in a breathless sort of way for her heart was still raising and her chest rose and fell rappidly, regaining the oxygen that had been lost. She smiled in an apologetic way Sorry. I am Fleet Goddess. Who are you? her parents had always told her she was too errupt and full on but she could not help it

The stallion smiled as he watched her and his muscles tensed as he turned around, ready to spring into a gallop to run after her but he stopped himself and hoped that she would slow down and come to him. She did. When she started babbling he listened without interfering, accepting it as just a part of her nature. He listened to everything that she said, still smiling. ”I am Vyrtigo. I own these lands but you are free to gallop over them as you feel the need to. I don’t mind.” His voice was clear and friendly as he spoke to her after she had finished. He could see that she had been running for quite a while, it was clear in her breathing. He would say nothing about it though for he did not want to sound rude or anything like it. He waited to see what she would say next, she seemed to be the type not to care much about the fact that they had just met, but he could be wrong.

Tossing her crown to rid her vision of her ebony forelock, she took him in with golden orbs. They were warm and friendly and lit with a wild fire that burned always within them and her soul Well it is good to meet you Vyrtigo. Interesting name you have to yourself. It is my luck that you are kindly enough to not punish me for the intrusion. I did not think of the owner, only of the land. Its a whole acting on impulse and not thinking before hand. I often do that she had gone off again but hadnt bothered to pull herself in check. The adreneline was still pulsing round her body and there was rising excitment about having met someone new in these new lands

The stallion smiled at her as she started babbling again. It seemed that it was something that she did do a lot. He didn’t care, it was not in his nature to judge others by what they did or said. ”I do not punish others for enjoying themselves.” He said this truthfully for why punish them because they were having fun when he loved to have fun himself. Maybe she would race with him, later though when she had recovered from this first gallop through his lands.

Breathing stilled to the normal right pace and her heart started its decent from its elevated rate. Yet she could still feel her blood pumping. Dancing a little on the spot she eagerly pranced one or two steps closer to the titan, examining him and his fine form intently. He was a pure thoroughbred such as herself and plenty friendly. Fleet Goddess was keen to make new friends so she continued talking That is fair Vyrtigo, I am glad your thoughts run like that. I see you are the same breed as myself, though I have great bloodlines. Oh, I do not mean to offend you but I am just not sure if you are of the wild or originally tmae. I hope I didnt come off rude worried expression crossed her clear, pretty features. She could not always controll her tongue or her pride. Though she had the decency to glance down at her flints for a moment to show her shame.

The stallion smiled at her as she started speaking again, any horse would seem quiet around her it seemed but he didn’t mind. He preferred babbling over awkward silences. ”My father ran free over the open ranges. My mother had been a tame horse once but she had not been raced for she had been injured quite badly. Though it had not been bad enough to keep her away from my father.” He smiled as he remembered her telling him all the stories of the humans and what they had done and how they had raced the horses to see who was the fastest but the stories that he had liked best was the ones of her and his father. ”I have a brother that was too young to run with my mother so he was tame. My father went back to see him but he refused to run away. Said something about being too good to want to run away.” Now he was the one that was rambling. He almost laughed at the whole thing, it seemed that someone would have to come and shut them up soon or they would be there talking for along time.

Harks were pushed forward to catch each and every word. He had an interesting life story and Goddess loved to hear others stories. Her parents often told stories yet they were of the tame life, races and good days out in the run. Her dam and sire had not loved one another. They had created a foal, their job with each other was done. Yet they both loved their daughter dearly and she loved them. It had been a good life. She understood the stallions brother's decision and she nodded as he finished. I understand what he means yet it is a terrible bore. The only part that remains interesting are the wins. she did not say races for she had never lost so they were wins to her. Ebony banner was flicked absent mindly as her mind traced over her memories. I would never go back she said thoughtfully, gazing at him. She had been standing still for some time and now her body protested. Tossing her tiara she moved her stilts, playful glint lighting her pools Too much fun to be had out here......

The stallion’s muscles were still tense, wanting to run. He snorted and tossed his head before turning and taking off at a gallop though he kept it rather slow. He didn’t mind losing as much as some others did though he was fairly certain that he could beat her if he really tried and wanted to. Determination could often made one do things thought impossible. He knew that she would want to race and he knew that it would be interesting and fun. He decided that he would lead the way though, even if she wanted to race for he knew every little bit of this land and some parts could be dangerous to a horse running too fast to stop suddenly. His harks were almost completely flat against his skull as he kept them out of the way and his long mane and tail streamed out behind him as he galloped. His head was not stretched out yet for there was no reason to do so and he did not extend his legs out fully with each stride as he would do if he was running hard.

He took off and the mare gave a small squeal of delight as she picked herself up and launched off into flight. Legs churned beneath her form, neck was extended slightly. Flints dug into the sod and propelled her along. Her midnight dreads were not as long as others for a year ago when she was racing it had been cut short by the humans. Yet it was fair enough. Her banner streamed out behind her as she pulled herself beside the stallion. Bit by bit she crept up his side before her nose was out infront followed by the rest of her head then her neck. Satisfied with this she kept the pace, a neck infront

A part of his land came up where it would be wiser to turn in more towards the middle of the land and then go out wider again after came up and the stallion sped up a little. He wasn’t in front yet but merely closer to the front. He turned slightly, not quite pushing her. He knew that any words would be lost by the wind that swept past them as they ran so he knew that he could not tell her to turn. He was on the outside, which was a good thing. He started going a bit more than before, their sides touching as he pushed her slightly but kept pace with her perfectly.

They kept running and Fleet Goddess lost herself in the enjoyment of her run. She hardly noticed him moving closer untill she felt him against her side. Glance was passed his way before she focused on where seh was going. Many times had she felt others horses push against her in a race but this was different. She had good instincts and instinct told her to pay attention to him. They were matching each other stride for stride, running nose to nose. She responded to his touch, curving away with him to the middle section of his home. Attention was paid to any sign he gave in the near future. Goddess made sure they kept together, and did not let herself get ahead

The stallion made sure to stop touching her side as they got far enough towards the middle and he kept running. Still matching her strides. If they kept running in this direction they would reach a long straight path of nothing but soft soil and grass. He snorted and tossed his head but his stride didn’t falter, not even slightly. He kept running as he looked ahead and saw the trees, he moved slightly more to the outside, snorting again to get the mare’s attention. It was easier to go around them than to go through them as there were usually some animals hidden in the small forest. Right after the trees they would find the straight where they would really be able to race. He kept going, making sure not to go faster than the mare. His heart was not yet pounding, as this was not a speed that he normally went at when really running. He was used to going much faster and much farther than this but he did not mind the change of pace and distance. Change was a good thing at times.

She noted his snort and spotted the trees and saw him going round them and she also swerved round the clump of trees. She went the opposite way to the stallion and they met past the trees. Her heart leap as she saw the stretch before them. Oh such a glorious run they could have. The ebony mare did a twisting buck before leaping into a full throtle gallop, racing faster and faster with each stride. Goddess glanced back at the stallion before propelling herself on further

As the mare sped up in front of him he did the same after a moment, speeding up more with each stride that he took until he was level with the mare and he stayed there. His legs stretching out in front of him yet he knew that he could go faster if he wished to do so but he didn’t. He stayed with the mare, matching her stride perfectly as they ran.

Orbs travelled to Vyrtigo as he matched her stride for stride.....again. Smile crossed her librums. Pillars stretched forth even further, followed by her sleek nape. She sloped her shoulders so her forelegs could gather quicker and it was less hassle o move. Her powerful haunched pushed her forward again. Nares were wide as she inhailed as much air as she could. Her hearts pace was slowly creeping to a faster rate. The sleek ebony shoulders were level with the titans head yet she kept it that way, waiting to see what the stallion would do. Only once did her thoughts cross to where they were going yet she worried not about that, only upon the race OCC: i dunno :S

They would be able to run for a long time still before they would even have to start thinking about slowing so Vyrtigo did not hesitate to quicken his pace so that he matched hers and then went a slight bit faster so that she would have to try and keep up with him instead of him keeping up with her.
Ooc:I think that we should let him win cos she had already been running and even though she’d rested afterwards it won’t really be enough and he hasn’t been running at all.

Snorting to his challenge she sped up easily yet the double run was wearing on her and slowly taking its toll. Her ebony coat was slick with sweat and her chest was starting to heave. Her heart beats filled her eardrums and once her steps faultered yet it only drove her to go faster. She passed him with seeming ease and she was a full body out infront. Stilts churned and pounded powering her along at full speed. She was out in front, far infront. Ther tip of her banner just infront of the stallions nose. Yet her energy erruptly drained and her far lead only lasted a few minutes. The mare gulped in as much oxygen as she could but felt herself dropping back level with the stallion. She was still having fun but her energy was draining faster then she was running. She was back, matching him stride for stride once again. She fought to keep it this way, them both equal

When she sped up he did too and then when she drew level with him once more he sped up even faster. He let his legs carry him across the lever ground with ease. His nostrils were flared as he took in the air easily, he had large lungs and he rarely had a lack of oxygen when he ran. He took in air and let it out slowly before breathing in again. He surged past her and kept speeding up but not quite reaching his fastest yet. He had a lot of endurance but he also had a lot of speed. When he realised that she was falling behind too quickly he slowed down and went in a wide circle so as not to slide before he came up behind her to reach her side.
